One of the most interesting challenges facing the textile industry is to increase the elongation resistance of polyolefin fibers.

By incorporating small amounts of PRIEX® ionomers into the original raw material, the resulting yarn could have its resistance to elongation increased by 30 to 50%.

The improvements in anti-aging and processing behavior could permit these materials to compete with some polyamide fibers.

The anti-static properties contributed by PRIEX polymers could also contribute to the development of some of the “smart” materials that are being anticipated by this market.
