Packaging

Films of PRIEX® ionomer can be easily sealed, even in the presence of fats or oils. This is important in the food industry, where these films can facilitate the packaging of such fatty items as salmon or chips. Packaging that incorporates PRIEX films can also extend the shelf-life of such foods. In thick films, PRIEX resins can improve the resistance to tearing or perforation, without affecting transparency or printability.

PRIEX films exhibit excellent adhesion to films such as EVOH, presenting processors with additional opportunities to optimize systems for protective barriers in packaging.

Finally, PRIEX coatings adhere very well to steel and aluminum, contributing to the corrosion resistance and surface protection of beverage cans or sandwiched metal sheets.
