An additive masterbatch is an additive concentrate in a polymer carrier. Typically, additive concentrations of masterbatches range between 5 - 60 %, depending on the customer and the application.
Due to the physical form (powder, liquid, or paste) additives are not easy to use for polymer processors. Masterbatches are not only very convenient but also safe to use.
Additive concentrations in the final product range between 0,05 - 5%. For a consistent polymer quality a consistent additive dosing is required. In order to dose small amounts of additives, masterbatches are being used by polymer processors and polymer producers.
Liquid additives are most of the time very difficult to handle and, in particular, difficult to dose. Addcomp produces a range of masterbatches with liquid ingredients. Most masterbatches containing liquid ingredients are tailor made, proprietary, masterbatches.
